Triple IPA season is in full swing here on the West Coast, which means—yep, you guessed it—Pliny the Younger Triple IPA from Russian River is getting packaged up and sent down to Southern California for your drinking enjoyment!
Last year’s release saw its widest distribution yet – more accounts got ahold of more kegs to the point where there were more unannounced, no line, multiple-day tapping than ever before. But even though Younger is more accessible than ever before, doesn’t mean its any less special. As always, we highly recommend trying to get a pour of this amazing pioneer of a hop bomb if you can.
Whether you’re a PtY vet or you’re still searching for your first taste of Russian River’s golden nectar, this is your guide to finding out where to drink Pliny the Younger Triple IPA in Los Angeles, Orange, and Ventura Counties in 2023.

The Local Peasant
Sherman Oaks – February 28th, 4pm
The Local Peasant in Sherman Oaks is tapping a keg of Pliny the Younger alongside other special Russian River beers on Tuesday, February 28th starting at 4pm. Limit one 8oz pour per person.

The folks at Bottlecraft are hosting a special Russian River tap takeover on Wednesday, February 8th and have tapped a keg of Pliny the Younger! Word on the street is the keg is now tapped.

Canoga Park – February 7th, 2pm
Instant Replay quietly, and I mean quietly, tapped one of the first kegs of 2023 Pliny the Younger on Tuesday and is slowly working its way through it this week. This keg is so underground it might not even be on the menu, so if you know, you know.
The American Dream
Huntington Beach – February 7th, 11am
The American Dream tapped a keg of Pliny the Younger around opening on Tuesday, February 7th as the first bar to pour Younger in SoCal. This was a relatively quiet tapping, so Pliny the Younger is still flowing as of Wednesday afternoon!
Fluid State
Ventura – February 8th, 12pm
Fluid State is tapping their keg of Pliny the Younger on Wednesday, February 8th and is releasing a very limited number of tickets for pre-sale starting Saturday, January 28th at noon. Tickets cost $9 and are one per person, redeemable for a pour of Younger only on February 8th from 12pm-10pm. Alongside Pliny the Younger, they’ll be pouring a number of other awesome Russian River beers alongside other NorCal beers from Cellarmaker, Ghost Town, Faction, Moonlight, Humble Sea, Sante Adairius, Alvarado Street, and more!
The Hermosillo
Highland Park – February 8th, 3pm
The Hermosillo quietly tapped a keg of Pliny the Younger Wednesday afternoon, which will likely pour well through the evening. Great spot to grab a pour of the good stuff. Keg is still pouring as of Thursday afternoon.
House of Billiards
Sherman Oaks – February 9th, 12pm
House of Billiards tapped a keg of Pliny the Younger on Thursday around noon. This is one of the best spots in the valley to grab a pour, so do it. Just save one for us! Still pouring on Friday afternoon.
Matt Denny’s Ale House
Arcadia – February 9th, 12pm
Matt Denny’s in Arcadia tapped a keg of Pliny the Younger on Thursday around noon. One per person, get it while it lasts! Still pouring on Friday.

Redondo Beach – February 9th, 2pm
Naja’s Place is tapping some special Russian River beers this Thursday, February 9th and it’s been confirmed that Younger is a part of that tap list. Enjoy an OG beer at one of LA’s OG beer spots. Still pouring on Friday afternoon.

38 Degrees in Monrovia did a last-minute announcement of their tapping of Pliny the Younger starting Saturday, February 11th at 11am. $10 for 10oz pour. No tickets necessary. Get it while it lasts!

Bottle & Pint in Oxnard is releasing pre-sale tickets for Pliny the Younger starting Tuesday, February 7th at 4pm. Limit two tickets per customer that are redeemable for 10oz pour of Younger during your chosen time slot on Saturday, February 11th. 10 other Russian River beers featured on tap.

There’s love in the air this Valentine’s Day at Tony’s Darts Away with their tapping of Pliny the Younger. Tickets will be distributed, one per person, starting at 11:30am, redeemable for one 12oz pour of younger from 12-8pm. They’ll also have a number of other Russian River beers flowing throughout the day.

Sherman Oaks – February 14th, 5pm
Boneyard Bistro is hosting their Valentine’s Day Seafood Boil and will be tapping a keg of Pliny the Younger at some point during the event. Grab reservations here or show up at the bar and get yourself a pour.

Tustin Brewing is selling $8 tickets redeemable for an 8oz pour of Pliny the Younger starting at 11am on Wednesday, February 15th. The keg taps at 3pm and you can redeem for your pour any time after that.

Green Cheek quietly tapped a keg of Pliny the Younger around noon on Wednesday, February 15th.

Simmzy’s in Manhattan Beach is hosting their Russian River Weekend kicking off on Thursday, February 16th with a tapping of Pliny the Younger. Pours will be available starting at 3pm for their Beer Club Members only, opening up to the public starting at 6pm. The Surly Goat in West Hollywood is hosting their infamous Russian River night at Thursday, February 16th starting at 6pm with plenty of Russian River beers on tap and the opportunity to pre-purchase a ticket redeemable for a pour of Pliny the Younger when the keg taps at 7:30pm. Mohawk is hosting its annual ticketed Russian River event featuring pours of Pliny the Younger for $12. Limited tickets are available for pre-sale here, which you can redeem for a 12oz pour of Younger from 12-3pm on the 18th. After 3pm, tickets for a pour of Pliny the Younger will be sold on a first-come-first-served basis. Other Russian River beers on tap will include Pliny the Elder, Blind Pig, Happy Hops, STS Pils, Row 2 Hill 56, Beautification, Salvation, Propitation, and Intinction Merlot.

Newbury Park – February 18th, 2pm
Bottle & Pint’s OG location in Newbury park is releasing pre-sale tickets starting Monday, February 13th starting at 4pm, limit 2 tickets per customer. Ticket holders will be able to redeem their tickets for a 10oz pour of Pliny the Younger during their chosen time slots on Saturday, February 18th. 10 other Russian River beers will be flowing that day as well.

Hollingshead Deli will be hosting their legendary Russian River extravaganza featuring Pliny the Younger on Monday, February 20th, which will include an appearance by Russian River Brewing Company owners, Vinnie & Natalie Cilurzo. Taplist includes 18 different Russian River beers, some of which do not make it down to Southern California at all! This is a locals-favorite tapping in a cozy, intimate setting. Lines and long wait times are expected.
