More InfoNew to the craft beer scene in Pasadena is Wild Parrot Brewing, run by married couple – and Pasadena locals – John and Kirsten Jackson. John, a former urban planner, left his job in June to commit to the endeavor, after homebrewing for 11 years. More InfoLongtime Valley staple MacLeod Ale Brewing Co has expanded for the first time, eight years after opening their original Van Nuys location. Right in the middle of the action on busy York Blvd. in Highland Park, the new location features a dining room and patio, and takes advantage of the pizza oven left from the previous tenants for wood-fired pies. More InfoThere’s something new and exciting going down on PCH in Malibu, which is not something we get to say very often. Malibu Brewing Co. is newly opened in Trancas Country Market, with a full food menu of flatbreads, charcuterie boards, burgers, and chicken sandwiches, plus 22 taps of beer brewed at their production facility over the hill in Westlake Village. More InfoThe newest taproom to hit Anaheim is a doozy. Windsor Brown’s, at the Center Street Promenade, has a tap list full of giant names, like Cellarmaker (San Francisco), Bottle Logic (Anaheim), and Sante Adairius (Capitola), plus vintage kegs of Side Project (St. Louis, MO). They also have a kitchen churning out fresh-made sandwiches and sides.

More InfoTaking over for the recently-closed Liberation Brewing, Beachwood Brewing & Distilling marked the Long Beach native brewery’s first expansion into Bixby Knolls. The distillery will get off the ground by early 2023, but for now, they are up and running as a satellite taproom for Beachwood’s excellent lambics, West Coast IPAs, and more. The brewery, which opened back in 2009, expects to open two more locations – a downtown Long Beach tasting room and a Huntington Beach pizzeria – by this fall. More InfoPomona’s newest brewery is Neon Bear Brewery, which opened earlier this month in the former Sanctum Brewing space. The name comes from a partnership between owner/brewmaster Ryan Walton, formerly of Last Name Brewing Co., and Glendale’s Museum of Neon Art, which has a storage facility next door to the brewery. The brewery features eight taps and lots of neon signage.

More InfoLa Jara Brewing first opened its doors in late April, 2022, after three years in development. Started by father-son duo – brewer Derek Johnstone, and his dad, Randy Johnstone – and partner Jason Sullivan, Norwalk’s first brewery has personal touches throughout. The mural on the wall was painted by Derek, Randy welded the tables in the taproom, and Jason fabricated the wooden benches. Their taproom has a giant glass wall, so you have a full view of their 10-bbl. production facility while you drink your beer.

Red Engine Brewing in Fillmore is a family-owned brewery run by firefighters, planning to open in winter 2022.
18210 Yorba Linda Blvd, Yorba Linda, CA 92886
Though they don’t have an opening date announced, Lone Wolf Brewing in Yorba Linda is a brewery, tasting room, and restaurant in Orange County.
230 Pine Ave, Long Beach, CA 90802
Opening up in a former Masonic Lodge in Long Beach, Altar Society has no opening date announced, but they expect to open as a brewery that also serves pizza and coffee sometime soon.
321 E Front St. Covina, CA 91723
Covina’s upcoming Campsite Brewing is in active construction, with an indoor/outdoor tasting room planned and an anticipated opening date sometime in 2022.
Bellflower, CA
Helmed by former MacLeod Ale and Pedals & Pints head brewer, David Chaney, Driven Beer Co. is planning to open a brewery and taproom in a new Bellflower food hall, operated by the group behind Long Beach’s Steelcraft.
Glendale, CA
Perpetual brewery-in-planning Reel Brewing, based in Van Nuys, has resumed plans to open its production brewery and taproom in Glendale off San Fernando Road. No timeline has been announced, so it’s currently wait-and-see.
