Though not as touristy as picture-perfect downtown Anaheim or the Disney area, Northeast Anaheim has one huge claim to fame: its beer scene. This section of Orange County’s biggest city is packed with breweries and beer stores – including some great options not included here like Brewery X, Phantom Ales, and Mr. K’s. What follows are three of our other favorites: an all-in-one beer supply and bottle shop; an incredible pastry stout specialist; and an excellent spot from a father-son brewteam.

More InfoAs far as craft beer shops nearby are concerned, there’s no one with as diverse of interests as Windsor Homebrew Supply. This multi hyphenate team has locations in Costa Mesa and Anaheim, both of which serve as bottle store, tasting room, and brewing supply shop. They host dozens of home brewing classes and discussions every month, and the bottle shop always has limited distribution beers from far-off places, alongside plenty of great local spots. This includes everything from super-fresh IPA cans of Other Half (NYC), Finback (Glendale, NY) and Alvarado Street (Monterey), as well as cellar reserves from places like Anchorage and 3 Fonteinen (Belgium).

More Info1072 N Armando St | Anaheim
More InfoDirectly across the street from Windsor is Bottle Logic, one of the best known breweries in Anaheim (and all of Southern California, for that matter). Ideal in the cooler winter months, Bottle Logic makes some truly next-level stouts. These high-octane options might be something like the Ferrero Rocher-inspired Aurum Orbitals, with chocolate and hazelnut, or their original bourbon barrel-aged beer, the whiskey-forward Darkstar November. But they’re not one-trick ponies, by any means. The hazy IPAs are great, and there aren’t a lot of lagers as well-balanced as their Hanamachi series – the original rice lager, its black lager version (made with roasted malts), and the yuzu version are all worth a taste.

More InfoTake a short walk up La Palma, and you’ll get to another fantastic brewery. Lost amidst some of the hype-ier breweries in Anaheim is the underrated Dueling Ducks Brewing, planted just around the corner from Bottle Logic in Northeast Anaheim. Father-son team Dennis and Daniel Kause opened up in 2021 after four years of planning, and have quietly built a loyal following for their clean, straightforward brews and beautifully furnished taproom. Their Azacca-hopped Go Zone hoppy lager is our go-to, and the Quiet On La Palma is an excellent take on the West Coast IPA.
