Homage Brewing Celebrates Five Years With Opening Of Their Second Location in Chinatown

After three years in planning, Pomona-based Homage Brewing recently opened the doors to their new brewery & taproom in Chinatown, just in time to celebrate their five-year anniversary.

Homage Chinatown opened the doors to its 5,000 square foot, 15BBL brewhouse with a full-service kitchen last Saturday, June 19th. The location has a total of 21 tap handles which will pour a lineup of lagers, hoppy beers, and mixed-fermentation Saisons alongside a selection of guest beers, natural wines, and ciders. The taproom is also outfitted with a retro hi-fi speaker system complemented by curated vinyl selections by local DJs, as well as an airy patio to enjoy beer and food outdoors.

Homage Brewing opened its original storefront location in East LA County back in May 2016, where they seamlessly integrated into the robust music, arts, and local business community in Downtown Pomona. Not long after opening, they had ramped the 3-barrel nano brewhouse to capacity and knew that they’d eventually need a larger taproom and production facility closer to Los Angeles city proper.

According to Homage owners, Matthew & Lauren Garcia, the concept of opening in Chinatown came about rather coincidentally.

We were attending a concert at the Los Angeles Historic Park a few years ago when we noticed a few commercial buildings for rent nearby. As we searched for parking, we came across the building on Main Street and were very interested from the moment we saw it and knew there was something special about it.

With the opening of the new location, Homage will increase production of their core beers, which include lagers, IPAs and table beers along with their barrel-aged mixed fermentation program highlighted by their Saison Spritz series and their fruited/grape bottled Saisons. Over the course of the next few months, they will be introducing a series of food pop-ups and kitchen takeovers with different chefs as they aim to launch their own food program in early Fall 2021.

Their Pomona location will continue operating as normal, with hours and seating recently expanded along with LA County ordinances.

We’d like to thank all of our supporters for their continued support. We are extremely excited to continue to meet new faces, build meaningful relationships, and grow within the thriving community of Los Angeles. We will continue to dream and work towards all the different avenues and possibilities of what our brewery can be. From the bottom of our hearts, thank you.

The opening of Homage’s second location signals the expansion of Downtown LA as a premiere LA beer destination, joining Highland Park Brewery’s Chinatown location just down the street, 101 Cider House a few blocks away, and the upcoming Benny Boy Brewing beer and cider project coming soon to neighboring Lincoln Heights.
