We both know you’re not going to get any work done during the NCAA Tournament this weekend, so why even pretend? Here are four breweries in Los Angeles showing all the games, so you can spend the next four days cheering on UCLA – or, let’s be real, whoever you picked to win your bracket – during the opening weekend of March Madness.
Far Field Beer Company
The South Bay’s newest brewery – and the first-ever in Lawndale – is opening up early Thursday and Friday for the first round of the tournament. Far Field will have TVs tuned to the games, not to mention a new beer on tap for St. Patrick’s Day on Thursday – a green sour ale, naturally colored with chlorophyll.
Los Angeles Ale Works
Before their fifth anniversary party kicks off this weekend, Los Angeles Ale Works will be open early and showing the tournament on Thursday, as well. The brewery will also debut a special green michelada (with cucumber, lime, and serrano) on Thursday, in addition to a bunch of exciting beers they’re beginning to tap for the anniversary.
Firestone Walker’s The Propagator
For a low-key viewing experience, Firestone Walker’s Venice brewhouse is always a good place to catch some sports. They have four TVs, which are always tuned to the day’s events, and hours from noon to 10pm, meaning you can cozy up and spend the day throwing back 805s.
Homebound Brew Haus
After opening in Downtown LA’s Union Station in November, Homebound Brew Haus has established itself as a great place to watch some sports. With outdoor TVs, a giant projector inside, and tons of seating, there aren’t many better places in this area to sit down with a beer and shout at the college students on the screen.
