Today we’re uncanning City of Heroes, a 7% Hazy IPA from Trademark Brewing in Long Beach, CA that honors COVID-19 healthcare heroes and essential workers. What’s not to love about that??
City of Heroes pours a slightly hazy, slightly translucent bright yellow with bright tropical aromas of zesty lemon peel, tart passionfruit, and a slight guava funk that was completely unexpected.
On the taste, you get a beer that drinks crisp, bright and dry, which is atypical for the usual sweet, soft, and round Hazy style. The beer finishes off with low bitterness and a lot of juicy fruity notes.
While City of Heroes might not be what we’ve come to expect as a true Hazy IPA (falls more in line with what we’d call “Juicy IPA”), it’s incredibly tasty and crushable and a beer with a great message that we can totally get behind.
