Relentless Brewing & Spirits
Relentless Brewing & Spirits is the first satellite taproom for Temecula-based Relentless Brewing. Despite...
Sleepy Eagle Rock punches far above its weight when it comes to great places to drink beer. Up Eagle Rock Blvd. and down Colorado, you’ll find a litany of great bars and restaurants with small-but-mighty beer lists like Capri Club and Little Beast. There’s also, of course, the eponymous Eagle Rock Brewery (which is technically in Glassell Park, so we’ll include it in a future Beer Hopping). All of which is to say there are a whole lot of worthwhile places to hit in this neighborhood. Here’s an in-depth look at three more of our favorites.

More InfoRelentless is a true multihyphenate – it’s part-brewery, part-distillery, part-tiki bar, part-pan-Asian restaurant, and entirely a good time. We’re not going to steer you away from their impressive, mostly rum-based cocktails, but we will say that the 24 taps on their list pour some of the finest liquids you can find nearby. On top of five or six of their own brews, their local brewery list includes the likes of Radiant, Bottle Logic, Paperback and Eagle Rock. Don’t skip the spicy Korean fried wings.

More InfoThe Fable is exactly the kind of low-key, wood-paneled watering hole where you’ll wish you could spend every night. A classic dive bar, they have a daily Happy Hour until 7pm, meaning $2 off all draft and canned beers – which include selections from nearby breweries like Ogopogo, Frogtown, and Highland Park. Their cocktail program is also very solid, if you’re drinking your way down Colorado with someone who’s less into beer.

More InfoIf we’re being honest, we can’t think of a better way to end the night than drinking local beer and piling quarters into a pinball machine. Which means it’s probably time to head to Walt’s Bar. There are a few arcade bars nearby that specialize in craft beer, but Walt’s is the best. Their tap list consistently includes some of Southern California’s best heavy hitters, like Highland Park, Green Cheek, and Mumford. If you don’t spend at least five dollars on “ICE COLD BEER” – an arcade game where you try to negotiate a tiny ball past a bunch of holes with two unreliable levers – then you need some more fun in your life.
