For Firestone Walker’s 25th anniversary, they released their classic Double Barrel Ale in a really cool heritage throwback bottle. This 5% British-style ale pays homage to the 150-year-old Burton Union process with partial fermentation in oak barrels.
The result is an incredibly unique showcase of caramel and toffee malt sweetness on a very light and drinkable body, with hints of English noble hop character and just the slightest bit of vanilla oak complexity.
DBA is the first beer that Firestone Walker put out, and it’s a very special homage to tradition that the brewery has continued to hold up and preserve over the last 25 years. There are not many breweries doing things like Firestone Walker and we hope to continue celebrating their beers for the next 25 years to come!
