One of the haziest beers Firestone Walker has ever made is actually one of the most unique and delicious Hazy IPAs I’ve ever tasted!
Elenna is a 7.3% Hazy IPA brewed out of Firestone Walker’s Propagator location in Venice, CA. It’s hopped with all New Zealand-grown Nelson Sauvin and Riwaka hops and features a healthy amount of oat malt that gives it an unmistakable hazy appearance and mouthfeel.
On the pour you get a beautiful glowing yellow-orange with a creamy milky aesthetic, a visual cue of the haze you’re about to experience. The aromas burst with fresh limes, white wine grapes, grassiness, and a spot of earthy tea.
On the taste, you’re greeted by a medium+ creamy body that gives way to more of that flavor complexity, blending bursts of white wine, green grapes, and earthy tea with a background citrus hit of tangy lime and orange peel.
It’s one of the most unique Hazy IPAs I’ve ever tasted, leaving behind that one-note tropical fruit flavor for a very complex and refreshing New Zealand hop experience. Definitely pick this beer up if you can find it, and keep your eye out for more limited-release Hazy IPAs coming out of Firestone Walker’s The Propagator.
