This Black IPA from Common Space Brewery leans heavvvyyyy on the IPA side with aggressive aromas and flavors of citrus and pine with little to no roast character and some sticky caramelly sweetness.
Unlike a lot of higher ABV beers that call themselves Black IPA, this 6.66% opaque hop bomb sits firmly in the single IPA range. A healthy dose of rye gives it some nice body and spice, while the Citra hops shine through with flavors of lemon peel, orange peel, and grapefruit peel.
While I prefer my Black IPAs with more chocolate roasty malt character, I appreciate the blast of citrus hoppiness Forget Me Not delivers, and I’m excited to give it another whirl when they release a fresh batch in February 2021!
