Next up in our Los Angeles Ale Works anniversary barrel-aged beer tasting is Rush’n Attack, a 12.5% Russian Imperial Stout.
This year’s batch comes in a cool brand new 12oz can design and features a new blend of 67% Russian Imperial Stout, 16.5% Imperial Stout, and 16.5% English Barleywine.
Rush’n Attack pours a jet black with a dark brown frothy head, with aromas of rich dark chocolate, smooth milk chocolate, with some really nice bourbon-soaked oak.
On the taste, you get major campfire s’mores vibes with big chocolate notes, sweet vanilla, and a hint of smokey barrel char, along with a touch of rich maple syrup that finishes out surprisingly dry.
The mouthfeel is really well-balanced for a beer of this size, it’s silky and substantial but not over the top and moves fast across the palate.
Rush’n Attack is a great beer from the Los Angeles Ale Works team and a favorite of the three barrel-aged anniversary beers. Get your hands on it.

Could this stout be sent to Massachusetts
Unfortunately, I don’t believe they ship beer there.
