Representing the northern-most tip of Los Angeles County is The Mortician from Lucky Luke Brewing Co in Palmdale, CA.
The Mortician is an 8.7% Black IPA that stood out from the pack in the most aggressive of ways. This beer is characterized by its massive malt and hop flavors, bringing coffee chocolate roastiness up against big citrus piney bitterness for an in-your-face experience that would challenge the most hearty of craft beer drinkers.
Don’t get me wrong, this is not a bad thing. The Mortician is a flavor bomb explosion in the most wonderful of ways. While its currently released on about a once-a-year schedule, maybe if we ask for it nicely the Lucky Luke team will bring it back sooner, you never know!
