Whompin’ Bear is a 6.8% IPA collab with El Segundo Brewing and Pizza Port featuring Strata and NZ Cascade hops. The beer pours a mostly clear light yellow gold with a thin film of haze and burs with massive aromas of bright strawberry, lightly sweet grapefruit orange citrus, and a touch of earthy dankness. On the palate, you get flavors of pineapple, more grapefruit, orange, and strawberry, with solid bitterness on a nice light body.
It’s a mostly new school, with just a hit of old-school bitterness to remind you where you came from. This beer is so damn good, it’s worthy of a rare on-camera chug.
